Welcome

You are browsing the Séguin of America family web site. Are you part of it, directly or indirectly? Look around. Perhaps one of your grandmothers, one of your great-grandmothers, a distant aunt or an uncle of the United States that you have vaguely heard of, is of the Séguin descent, either by this surname or by a homonym.

François Séguin, the first Séguin to come to America, was given the nickname « La Déroute ». According to the inscription on the parish registers found in the Roman Catholic churches, it was noted that François Séguin left a large progeny. Over the years many Séguins have adopted other family names. These names include FAGNAN, LADÉROUTE, LADEROOT, LADROW, Salient, SAWYER, Salokhe, Sayan, SAYEN, SEGHUIN, Seguin, Seguine, Seguin and SIGOUIN, to name but a few.

We are looking for surprises. If you know of Séguin or Séguin X in Québec, somewhere in Canada, the United States or a country in central or South America, in the world, do not hesitate to share it with us. A good way to track the Séguins is to consult the telephone directories of different cities.

We look forward to your comments, your findings and questions about the Séguin posterity or about our site.

This is an appointment on our site! Do not leave without signing the Guestbook. And we hope to see you again on the site. Don't hesitate to Join To the Séguin Association of America.
